Providence Health & Services Rehab Therapy Clinical Manager - Physical Therapy in Kodiak, Alaska

Providence is calling a Rehab Therapy Clinical Manager (Physical Therapy, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. In this position you will:

  • Create supporting systems that enable staff to jointly plan and deliver care.

  • Schedule regular meetings with direct report staff to provide supervision, interactive communication, accountability, collaboration, and to monitor operations.

  • Support staff with tools and resources that foster professional development.

  • Responsible for developing and leading adult inpatient therapy team(s) in clinical practice.

  • Use independent judgment to evaluate best practices and set department goals, policies and procedures for clinical excellence.

  • Be responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of department competencies, educational programs, new employee orientation, and annual skills labs.

  • Collaborate with staff, physicians and all appropriate departments to promote optimal patient care and customer service from therapy department.

  • Model and mentor service excellence.

  • Provide opportunities to enhance staff development of service excellence.

  • Assist director in preparation of annual operating and capital budgets; primarily be responsible for staffing and operating expense budget for department.

  • Ensure quality and cost-effective patient care and services that meet/surpass accreditation standards for therapies.

  • Develop, implement, evaluate and modify programs and services to meet patient care, operations, and staff development needs.

  • Exercise independent judgment to implement plans for operations in areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Degree in Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational therapy, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Speech and Language Therapy

  • 4 years of progressively responsible operations experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Licensed in Alaska as Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational therapy, Occupational Therapy Assistant or Speech and Language Therapy

  • Additional business or management education

  • 2 years of management experience within a clinical environment

About Kodiak Island Medical Center

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
