Providence is calling a Radiology Technician II Diagnostic X-ray - CT Technician (Cat Scanner, Variable, 1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week) at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform wide variety of Diagnostic X-Ray, CT procedures and protocols, maintaining high image quality according to department, hospital, and national standards.
Communicate with physicians, nurses and other members of the team concerning patient status, diagnosis, and related information.
Coordinate scheduling of routine exams, tests, and daily add-on procedures.
Maintain team-oriented approach to high standards of patient care and patient flow through the department.
Calibrate, maintain and trouble-shoot equipment, and independent workstations.
Complete records, daily Quality Assurance and Improvement information, meeting regulatory and department standards.
Perform the duties necessary to meet the departmental goals within established procedures and guidelines. Works with little or no supervision at night and on weekends when “on call”. Unusual or complex problems are referred to the Radiology Manager for resolution.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered or eligible.
If eligible, must obtain ARRT licensure within six months of date of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
2 years clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist
2 years of work experience in Computed Tomography (CT)

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.
