Providence Health & Services Mental Health Clinician I in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a Clinician I (Comm Serv Program, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Develops intervention plans, records progress and develops reports appropriate to ability level as directed. Maintains all relevant records in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
Provides consultation and education activities to agencies, organizations, professionals and individuals as clinically appropriate, while maintaining confidentiality.
Participates in regular clinical supervision, group staffing, in-service training, and professional development activities as directed by or agreed upon with supervisor. Confers with clinicians, psychiatrists and other appropriate health and mental health professionals as needed. May be asked to present training to other staff in areas of expertise.
Provides crisis intervention and emergency services as directed by supervisor. May be asked to collect information and/or coordinate activities for involuntary hospitalization once an admission decision has been made.
Provides psychoeducation services to villages and other locations within the borough as directed by supervisor.
Participates in community activities involving mental health (e.g. health fairs), makes presentations to community groups and acts as committee member (e.g. quality assurance) as requested by supervisor.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in social work, psychology or a related field
Licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Bachelor’s degree require a minimum of one year experience in a mental health related field.
Knowledge of principles and practices of psychotherapy, psychological assessment or assessment procedures appropriate to field if other than psychology and crisis intervention
Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of clients, staff and others
