Providence is calling an Environmental Services Worker (Environmental Services, Variable, 0.0 FTE - On Call) to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. In this position you will:
Perform a variety of cleaning duties to ensure that established standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the hospital.
Adjust cleaning duties to ensure assigned areas are cleaned in a timely manner.
Perform work efficiently to contribute to an economical operation.
Attend all mandatory meetings and classes.
Work well with other staff members to provide a positive work environment.
Perform work according to prescribed safety standards and policies to ensure a safe, aseptic environment is maintained.
Demonstrate familiarity with chemical safety procedures.
Demonstrate familiarity with basic infection control technique.
Able to operate all electrical equipment used in cleaning, stripping and buffing floors and cleaning carpets when required.
Report needed supplies and equipment maintenance required to ensure continued cleaning service.
Relief coverage for different job classifications within the department.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- Current Alaska driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED
6 months of housekeeping experience, hospital or commercial.

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.
PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
