Providence Billing - Collection Specialist in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a Billing - Collection Specialist (Comm Support Program, Days, 0.0 FTE) to Providence Kodiak Island Mental Health Center in Kodiak, Alaska. In this position you will:
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Demonstrate professional skills in working with departmental staff, hospital departments, physicians, physician’s office staff, government agency and insurance company representatives, patients, consultants and co-workers. Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
REGISTRATION AND CHARGING: Ensure all billing documentation required by payers, including but not limited to CPT-4, HCPCS and ICD-9 coding, prior authorization, provider identifications, primary and secondary insurance, patient demographics, insured identification, charges and dates of service are complete and correct. Post and verify charges.
BILLING AND RESOLUTION: Complete claims submission on a daily basis. Perform follow-up with patients and third party payers to ensure timely and accurate resolution of accounts within departmental guidelines and government program regulations. Calculate and thoroughly analyzes remittance advises to ensure payment and required contractual allowances are applied accurately. Maintain all credit balances within department guidelines. Process all sliding scale applications. Maintain sliding scale accounts.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Account payable responsibilities include stamping mail, processing check requests, getting administrative approval on requests and researching non payment.
AKAIMS: Responsible for documenting all charges that occur in PKICC on the state AKAIMS system in order to comply with state funding responsibilities.
SCHEDULING: This position must assist in maintenance of schedule for all clinicians.
URINE ANALYSIS PROCESSING: Responsible for Urine Analysis processing duties to fulfill contractual obligations with agencies, court referred individuals and private individuals. Must ensure regulations are met consistently during entire process.
Required qualification for this position include:
- High school graduation or GED
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 2 years medical accounts receivable experience
