Providence is seeking an Administrator to lead the Medical Center in Kodiak, Alaska. This is a prime opportunity for an aspiring leader to take their career to the next level.
The Administrator of the Kodiak Island Service Area is responsible for developing and implementing and optimizing an integrated health care delivery system for the residents of Kodiak Island that is comprised of a continuum of healthcare services that meets the needs of the Island’s residents
In this position you will:
Develop a vision and lead the development of strategic plan to create and manage an integrated delivery system.
Keep board members, physicians, employees, policy makers, and citizens apprised of the important issues affecting the healthcare of the community and make recommendations to them regarding changes to improve those services.
Manage the Service Area to achieve strategic goals and objectives and providing direction to the leadership team responsible for the management of the components of the integrated delivery system.
Oversee the financial management of the activities within the Service Area including preparation of the annual budget consistent with Providence Health System requirements and managing the Service Area activities to achieve budgeted net revenue.
Work closely with the Chief Executive of the Anchorage Service Area to identify opportunities for collaboration and joint development of services.
Oversee the annual strategic planning processes to assure that goals and plans necessary to implement the delivery system are in place.
Five (5) years of experience in healthcare with significant responsibility for hospital operations including nursing
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Health Care, Hospital Administration or Business Administration
Experience in a rural setting
Experience within a healthcare system
Familiarity and experience with the "servant leadership" approach to management
Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island.
This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.
